Our story so far

The Horsley Farmers Market was born in 2019 as a result of a recommendation made in the East Horsley Parish Council Neighbourhood Plan. A survey of local people showed that the community wanted a market to bring together the whole village.

After much planning the first market was scheduled for April 2020. But thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, the first market didn't go ahead until August last year. The turnout was phenomenal and the overwhelmingly positive response from the village and stallholders alike meant that it was a huge success.

The market happens as a result of a huge amount of work put in by the team both on the day, and behind the scenes in the weeks leading up to each event. There is a core team of seven but the markets couldn't run so smoothly without an amazing team of on-the-day volunteers. The market has also received a great deal of help and encouragement from East Horsley Parish Council who played a vital role in getting things off the ground.
